Collingwood has finished off the home-and-away season superbly, with a 19-point victory over Geelong on Saturday, making them just the second team in VFLW history to finish off a regular season undefeated.

In what was a highly contested game, both sides struggled in front of goals early in the match. But the Pies found composure in the second half to secure the win, 3.5 (23) to 0.4 (4).

It was Mikala Cann who scored the breakthrough goal late in the second term. The Pies’ third-year AFLW player was simply outstanding, finishing the game with the most disposals on the ground (30) along with 11 tackles.

Second-gamer Eliza James also managed to hit the scoreboard late in the second term to give the Pies a 12-point lead at the final break.

A goal from Georgia Ricardo late in the final term ultimately sealed the win.

While the visitors managed to get lots of the ball into their forward 50, they struggled to capitalise on the scoreboard which saw them walk away goalless.

With the home and away season now finished, Imogen Barnett has been crowned the league’s leading goal kicker with a total of 20 goals this season.

The Pies will now prepare for a rematch against the Cats in next weekend’s Qualifying Final with the date and time yet to be confirmed.
