Collingwood’s VFL side will look to make it three wins in a row this weekend as the team takes the short walk around the corner to Punt Road Oval where Richmond, the reigning VFL premiers await.

Richmond have not experienced their regular success in the VFL this season, with a draw against Williamstown their only points from the last three rounds. The Pies however, have been in electric form coming off the lockdown break with back to back victories against Frankston and Sandringham.

The most exciting news leading into this weekend’s match is the return of Reef McInnes from a stint on the sidelines. McInnes injured his ankle against Coburg in Round 4, but will take the field against the Tigers after proving his fitness during the week. The young midfielder has had an injury interrupted first season at the Pies, however hopefully has a good run of football as the VFL season gets closer to the pointy end.

Finlay Macrae will return to the VFL side this weekend after being selected as the AFL medical substitute in last weekend’s match against St Kilda. In what has been an outstanding first season at Collingwood, Macrae continues to develop his game at a senior level.

After a tough last two weeks, Mason Cox will look to regain his form in the VFL this week. The forward will provide a target up forward for the Pies in what should be an exciting match.

Co-captain Campbell Hustwaite will miss this weekend’s match with a hamstring injury. Hustwaite pulled up sore in the late stages of the game against Sandringham after putting together an awesome performance.

Liam McMahon was also a casualty from Sunday's win against the Zebras. McMahon left the ground after being concussed in a marking contest that saw his head clash with Ollie Henry's hip. He will be out for the mandatory 12 days under the AFL's concussion protocol.

VFL listed player Sam Glover will return to the side after missing the last few games due to a hamstring injury. The versatile swingman plays an important role for the Pies in the VFL, providing great flexibility for the coaches.

There will be three VFL debutants to face the Tigers, with Oakleigh Chargers players Sam Collins and Lochie Jenkins donning the black and white stripes. Collins played for the VFL side during the preseason against the Western Bulldogs. Eastern Rangers running defender Josh Clarke will also run out for the Pies for the first time.
