Aiden Begg will make his debut against Gold Coast on Sunday.

Begg, the club’s second pick in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft, has developed significantly over the last few weeks in the VFL.

Coming from the Eastern Rangers in the NAB League, Begg came to the Pies recovering from a shoulder injury.

He has used the pre-season and the VFL to further develop to be ready for the top level.

With the absence of Brodie Grundy, Begg will be utilised as a ruck and tall forward.

Fly believes he is ready to play senior footy.

“Begg is certainly impressing. His form in the VFL has been really strong and he has improved considerably," McRae said on Friday.

“He has improved considerably; we’ve been watching him grow in front of our eyes.

“I never through he’d be in the position to be considering his name in round seven. It shows his growth and the work that Josh Fraser has done in the development team has been sensational”.
