Both head coaches from Saturday afternoon’s Collingwood victory over North Melbourne were in agreement with regards to the top four players on the ground.

Mick Malthouse and Brad Scott deemed vice-captain Scott Pendlebury’s game best afield as the 23-year-old received a maximum 10 votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year voting.  Pendlebury matched a previous career best of 39 possessions to accompany five tackles and one goal.

Dane Swan, who is tied at the top of the AFLCA leaderboard with Geelong’s Corey Enright after two rounds, was next best polling eight votes.  Swan has now racked up 74 disposals after two matches to lead the AFL competition.

Rounding out the top three for the head coaches, Chris Dawes’ game warranted six votes after the booted two goals and collected a career-high 26 disposals.  Dawes has now polled 15 total votes and is in a tie for fourth on the leaderboard.

Other Magpies to poll include Dayne Beams (4), Travis Cloke (1) and Harry O’Brien (1).

Past winners of the prestigious award include Dane Swan (2010), Gary Ablett Jnr (2007-09), Simon Goodwin and Adam Goodes (joint winners in 2006), Barry Hall (2005) and Warren Tredrea (2004).
