Reigning Club Best and Fairest Jordyn Allen heads up a series of top talent in Imogen Barnett, Tarni Brown, Lauren Butler and Aishling Sheridan who have all penned fresh two-year deals.

In addition, Collingwood foundation players Brittany Bonnici and Ruby Schleicher as well as key talents in Mikala Cann, Sarah Rowe, Eliza James and Charlotte Taylor have all signed contract extensions to remain in the black and white until at least the end of 2024.

Talented cross-coder Ash Brazill alongside Sabrina Frederick and Sarah Sansonetti have also put pen to paper, signing on until the end of the 2023 season.

The news follows the recent signings of new recruits Grace Campbell and Tarni White last week.

In addition to the players above, the Club has seen recommitments from Olivia Barber, Charlotte Blair, Lauren Brazzale, Sophie Casey, Brianna Davey, Imogen Evans, Erica Fowler, Joanna Lin, Stacey Livingstone, Alana Porter and Emily Smith.

Collingwood’s Head of Women’s Football Jess Burger said these commitments secure both the current and long-term strategy of the Club’s women’s football program.

“The recommitment of 27 players demonstrates an outstanding vote of confidence in the Club, program and what the playing group are continuing to build together,” Burger said.

“These players have continuously bought into the standards of our program and are relentless in their pursuit to achieve the ultimate success together.

“With the return of Bri and Brit alongside our 25 recommitments, our leadership is in good hands for the now and the future.

“Having retained 13 players aged 22 and under along with the experience and guidance of several senior players on our list, including four of our foundation players, the team is well-positioned to achieve greater on-field success in 2023.”

In other news, Collingwood has today informed El Chaston and Abbi Moloney that they would not be offered new contracts with the Club for the 2023 AFLW season.

Chaston began their AFLW career at the Pies having been selected with Pick 32 at the 2021 Draft. Across two seasons, Chaston played 11 games for the Pies with four appearances last season.

Moloney was also given her first AFLW opportunity with Collingwood having been selected with Pick 31 at the 2020 Draft. During her three seasons at the Club, Moloney played nine games with three appearances during season seven.

“We thank El and Abbi for their contributions to our program,” Burger said.

“It’s been special to see the development of both El and Abbi who began their careers at our Club and we will continue to support them as they transition into the next phase of their respective careers.”

“Our season seven squad had 32 players listed. These changes were necessary to head into 2023 season with the requirements of 30 players.”
