Collingwood welcomes defender Annie Lee who has signed a two-year deal with the Club.

As part of a four-way trade involving Carlton, North Melbourne, St Kilda and Collingwood, Lee arrives at Collingwood in exchange for pick 48 and Tarni Brown arriving at Carlton. The Pies also receive pick 31 from the Saints and pick 59 from North Melbourne.

Selected with pick number 10 in the 2021 AFLW Draft, Lee went on to play 14 games across her three seasons with Carlton.

Hailing from Warrnambool, the 20-year-old was originally recruited from the Geelong Falcons in the Coates League and was named in the 2021 NAB AFLW Under-19 All-Australian team.

Collingwood’s Head of Women’s Football Jess Burger welcomed Lee to the Pies.

“We’re delighted to welcome Annie to Collingwood, who will be a part of our program until at least the end of 2025,” Burger said.

“Annie provides great drive off the half-back and has impressed with her intercepting and ball use. She also offers versatility in her ability to play multiple roles on-field.

“We look forward to her next chapter in the black and white.”

Brown departs Collingwood after 34 games across four campaigns.

A father-daughter selection in 2020, Brown made her AFLW debut the following year in Round One against Carlton.

Burger wished Brown well.

“We thank Tarni for being a part of our football program for the last four seasons and the contributions she has made to the Club.

“It’s been great to have played a part in her development to date and we wish her all the best for this next chapter in her career.”

Collingwood currently has picks 8, 9, 31 and 59 ahead of the 2023 NAB AFLW Draft next week.
