Collingwood has named three inclusions for its Round 9 clash with Geelong on Saturday night at the MCG.
Veterans Scott Pendlebury and Jeremy Howe and forward Beau McCreery return to the senior team.
Pendlebury and Howe were managed for last week’s draw with Hawthorn, while McCreery has recovered from general soreness.
With his return, Pendlebury will line-up for his 432nd AFL match, equalling former North Melbourne player Brent Harvey’s record for most VFL/AFL games played.
Defender Wil Parker and forward Will Hayes have been omitted from the team that took the field last week, while defender Harry Perryman will also miss the clash through injury.
Perryman sustained a moderate-grade hamstring injury in the Round 8 clash with the Hawks. He commenced a rehabilitation program this week with the aim to return to play in four to five weeks.
Hayes will be joined by midfielder Ed Allan and forward Charlie West as emergencies for Saturday night’s clash.
Midfielder-forward Patrick Lipinski has been selected for his 150th AFL game. After 56 games with the Western Bulldogs between 2017 and 2021, the Eltham product crossed to the Pies, instantly becoming a staple of Craig McRae’s team on his way to 93 games in the black and white.
