The Collingwood Football Club has announced its playing guernsey numbers for the 2011 season.
After wearing the number 20 guernsey for nine seasons and 161 games with the Magpies from 1998-2006, Chris Tarrant will wear the number two guernsey as he continues his career with Collingwood. The number was previously worn by Sean Rusling.
Another experienced recruit, Andrew Krakouer, will wear the number seven jumper formerly worn by Paul Medhurst.
New Magpie Alex Fasolo will honour club greats Simon Prestigiacomo and Peter Daicos by wearing the number 35 guernsey, after senior coach Mick Malthouse recently announced the number would be worn by the club’s first draft pick each year.
Premiership player Jarryd Blair has changed from number 47 and will wear Shane O’Bree’s old number 11, while Luke Rounds has moved from 37 to 14.
Emerging tall Lachlan Keeffe, who was recently promoted to the senior list, will become the first player to wear number 23 since Anthony Rocca retired at the end of the 2009 season, while young midfielder Josh Thomas has moved from 40 to 24, a number vacated by Tarkyn Lockyer. Tom Young, who like Keeffe has been promoted to the senior list for 2011, will wear number 25, a guernsey worn in 200 games by Josh Fraser.
Simon Buckley has moved from 41 to 27, while new ruckman John Ceglar will wear number 29.
