Containing a host of players who could see senior action this year, Brown led the troops for over two hours in a high-intensity session, two days out from the VFL return to Victoria Park for round one of the season.??

The squad included a wealth of players with AFL experience including Sean Rusling, Tyson Goldsack, Anthony Corrie, Nathan Brown, Ryan Cook and Simon Buckley.

In a positive sign for the Magpies, ruckman Cameron Wood worked out with the VFL squad five weeks after his finger operation.

The AFL squad, made up of 23 players, descended upon the paddock at 11.30 for a light session before Friday night’s match.

Notable absences included Heath Shaw and Josh Fraser however vice-captain Scott Pendlebury stated in a press conference after the session that the players are ready to go on Friday.?
