Daniel Currie

The Pies’ Forwards Coach spent a decade in the AFL with three clubs as a journeyman ruckman, finishing his career on 10 games.

Initially drafted by the Sydney Swans in 2007, Currie battled with injuries and a strong Swans side that prevented him from cracking into the team.

He was delisted in 2011 and spent a year playing in the SANFL, before North Melbourne drafted him ahead of the 2013 season.

Currie played four games at the Kangaroos over three seasons, before finishing his career at the Gold Coast Suns in 2016-17, where he played six games.

Currie arrived at the Pies alongside Sam Wright, Tom Wilson and Dom Tyson in 2024 as part of the Club’s new-look coaching group and took the reins of the forwards.

He will do so again in 2025 and will be buoyed by the addition of number one pick Ash Centra inside 50, as well as key forward Nell Morris-Dalton who sat out all of 2024 with a back injury.
